Giving Back

SICL has sponsored the Yorkshire Air Ambulance Charity since 2006 and is proud to give back to the community in this way.

The Yorkshire Air Ambulance is an independent charity providing a life-saving rapid response emergency service to 5 million people. It flies seven days a week, 365 days a year, covering a large region that not only includes major cities and motorways, but also rural and isolated locations. 

To keep providing this lifesaving service the charity needs to raise over £12,000 per day to keep both of Yorkshire’s Air Ambulances maintained and in the air. The generosity of donation is the life blood of the charity, without which it would not be able to operate.

As a corporate sponsor SICL is, in effect, IT for the charity, providing ServiceDesk and ‘man-on-site’ support, IT equipment free-of-charge and leveraging charity status with vendors. 

Ashley Woodman, Founder of SICL, explains, “I went to the air desk launch in March 2006 and met eleven children who wouldn’t be alive but for the air ambulance. I knew then we had to do more for the charity and everyone in the business agreed.  It’s our way of giving back to the community in which most of us live and work.”
