The Britcar championships are organised and administered by the Britcar Ltd in accordance with the General Regulations of the Royal Automobile Club Motor Sports Association and regularly feature on Sky Sports and programmes such as BBC’s Top Gear.
Competitive racing has been an ambition of SICL’s Technical Director, Ashley Woodman, and business growth along with sponsorship allowed Ashley to realise his ambitions whilst providing SICL with increased publicity and the chance for customers and suppliers to meet regularly throughout the Britcar season and support the team.
As comparative race novices in Britcar Production S1 Class 3 2008 the race team comprising Drivers: Ashley Woodman and Owen Thomas plus race team Matt Faulks, James Davies, Chris Copeman and Keith Hemsworth made a steady start to the races but gradually grew in confidence as their first season progressed culminating in winning class at the Britcar Silverstone 24 hour race – a fantastic result in their first season!
The SICL team finished overall 4th in class for the 2008 season; a highly creditable result, which bodes well for the 2009 season.
